The Peugeot 3008 - is a Crossover just a compromise? We’ve long wondered if the whole Crossover fad – for a Crossover is what the Peugeot 3008 Sport HDi 150 we have to play with this week is – is just a secret campaign by big car makers to cut down the number of styles of each model they need to offer. After all, why bother with a hatchback, an estate, a saloon, a soft roader SUV and an MPV when you can claim that you have one model that can cover all the bases.
But, as expected, Jaguar are heading full tilt towards a production F-Type Coupe that will follow the lines of the appealing CX-16, as evidenced by the patent image filings (above) acquired by Auto Motor und Sport. The show an F-Type Coupe that delivers almost all of the style the CX-16 did – just as Land Rover managed when they turned the LRX in to the Range Rover Evoque – which will disappoint no one. In fact, the coupe – with its roof line flowing down from the A-pillar right to the tail – is better looking than the Roadster and more evocative of the E-Type.
The 2010 Dacia Duster - coming to the UK in 2012. James May will be pleased. The ‘Renault for the budget conscious’ brand Dacia are to launch their cars in the UK starting in 2012, despite telling us when they revealed the Duster in December they had no plans for a UK launch.
